TI MSP430G based bipedal walker

The TI Launchpad Walker is a four servo, four degree of motion, bipedal robot based on the 
Lynxmotion BRAT jr. bipedal chassis.

 


The total cost of the robot is less the $120.00 thanks to the low cost TI Launchpad and the MSP430G2553 free sample program.

 

The robot can be upgraded with a three axis accelerometer and tilt compensated compass for $20.00 using this Pololu module:

The robot is controlled using a simple ASCII protocol.  You can make the robot walk using hyperterminal, RobotSee, Python, or any language that can send data out the serial port. 

 

The firmware for the TI MSP430G2553 can be used to control up to 5 servos with 16 bit accuracy.  You can download the firmware here:Click Here to Download Firmware
