Following a proposal made on the CIRC list, we start here a project to make a timer for our hobby, robotics.

Wow, how topical. Found out there's a line following timer in an article in this months ROBOT magazine. Well ours will be better because it will be wireless.

Here's an interesting article about using the S6986 to be a long range reflection detector. I had a student intern build something like this, and we found we could go about 4 meters quite easily.

I've ordered S6986's from www.junun.org to experiment with as a gate for the timer project here.

The Android interface may be easier than I thought. A pretty good example covering most of the code necessary to set up a bluetooth interface and pass data back and forth already exists on the Android Developer site.
